Sweetcorn 'Sweet Nugget F1'

Sweet Nugget produces super-sweet sweetcorn. Produces very long, delicious cobs. A very early variety so performs well under cooler conditions. New enough to Ireland but bred to survive a colder climate. Homegrown sweetcorn is a real treat. Be warned, they don't store at all. The general advice is, pick the minute they're ready and run from the garden to the kitchen! Really good for home freezing however, which doesn't affect the taste or nutritional value if frozen as soon as picked.

Sowing:
April to May
Sow individual seeds into small pots (7 cm) or large modules and keep in a warm place. Pot on into a 10 cm pot when ready. Plant out in late May-June after hardening off. Initial protection with a cloche is beneficial.
