About GIY & GROW HQ
GIY is an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to fostering ‘food empathy’—a deeper connection with food and respect for the people and planet that bring it to our tables. Our mission is to inspire and empower a global community of food growers to create a fair, resilient, and sustainable food system. GROW HQ, our flagship sustainable food system model, opened in 2016, featuring an organic garden with intensive vegetable production, top and soft fruit, protected cropping, and ornamental areas.
Our market garden is in a 10-acre walled garden at the Curraghmore Estate, which traditionally was used to supply the estate with fresh vegetables. In partnership with the Curraghmore Estate, we want to bring this beautiful garden back to life, and in the years ahead we will be restoring some of the old garden buildings and running courses in food growing, smallholding and regenerative agriculture there.
