Grow your Own Salads GROWBox (Small GROWBox)

shipping details

  • Get growing your own salads with our favourite selection of easy to grow salads

This GROWBox is a selection of our favourite, easy-to-grow salads. It’s long past time we moved away from the boring heads of lettuce and tasteless bagged salads from the supermarket and started pimping up the salad bowl with your our own salad leaves. Because they do well in pots/containers, and can be grown indoors, this selection is ideal for the Urban GIYer about town. Salad leaves are quick growing and can be sown pretty much all year around. The key here is little and often. Otherwise you end up with a big glut of leaves that are super-perishable which is a total waste, unless you are catering for a wedding.

    What’s in the GROWBox?

This is a box full of possibility – imagine yourself tucking in to your own home-grown salads – all those new textures, tastes and colours. But before you get there, you’ve got to grow it.  This box contains:

    • Salad Seeds x 3
      • Mixed Oriental Greens
      • Mustard Red Frills
      • Baby Gem Lettuce
    • 1 Pencil and notepad – always a good plan to jot down your sowing dates, progress and good intentions..
    • A little GIY Guide (we’ve stuffed it with loads of stuff we’ve learned about growing)
  • Where to grow them:

    • We recommend sowing the seeds on a windowsill inside your house or apartment to start.  Put them somewhere sunny.  They will look amazing.
    • When the seedlings get a little bigger, we will be moving them in to bigger pots or in to the soil outside to grow them on.  Remember, most veg do better in warm, sunny locations – just like humans really.
