Join us journey of self-discovery and well-being with our new Holistic Horticulture experience at GROW HQ, where nature becomes your therapist.

Led by Richard Mee and Kevin Costello, this immersive day combines the restorative powers of Growing, Social and Therapeutic Horticulture and Forest Bathing to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit.

Morning Session With Richard:

He's not your average grower – with a passion for nurturing both plants and souls, Richard brings a unique blend of expertise and holistic wisdom to our growing experiences.

A self-proclaimed 'hippie at heart,' Richard sees the garden as more than just a growing space – it's a sanctuary for the mind, body, and spirit. Join him on a soulful exploration where the garden becomes your farmers' market, gym, church, and counselor all in one. Discover serenity as you connect with nature's rhythms, observe its wonders, and feel part of something greater. With mindful activities like garden walks and bee watching, Richard will guide you to embrace a holistic approach to growing that nourishes your soul alongside your plants.

For lunch, you'll enjoy a delicious plot-to-plate mezze lunch overlooking the HQ Gardens. Our award-winning zero waste café serves local, organic, seasonal food. The fresh produce grown at GROW HQ is complimented by the finest local meat, poultry, fish and cheese. When using our homegrown food, the distance from plot to plate is 112 steps (yes, we’ve counted!). The garden team grow it, the kitchen team cook it, and you will eat it on the day!

There will be coffee, tea and scones on arrival and a seasonal cordial for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Afternoon Session With Kevin:

Healing Through Nature: Social and Therapeutic Horticulture and Forest Bathing.

Delve into the healing power of nature with Kevin as he introduces you to Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) and the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing, or Shinrin Yoku.

Explore the theory and practice of STH through engaging workshops where you'll get your hands dirty with seed sowing, try your hand crafting some natural products using herbs and blossoms from the garden. Then, immerse yourself in the tranquil natural surroundings, as you practice mindful breathing exercises and allow nature to bathe your senses, leaving you calm and relaxed.

Conclude the day with a reflective tea ceremony, savouring herbal teas made from the garden's bounty, and reflect on the relaxation and rejuvenation you've experienced.

We're looking forward to sharing this unique opportunity to heal, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature in the heart of GROW HQ with you. Leave feeling inspired, refreshed, and empowered to incorporate the restorative power of nature into your daily life.
