On the evening, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner inspired by the book and hear Richie’s personal journey, how food helped him reconnect with his roots, and how two cultures came together, one dish at a time.

About Richie Castillo & Alex O’Neill

Richie Castillo and Alex O’Neill are the team behind Bahay, a Filipino-Irish pop-up that’s shaking up the Irish food scene with bold flavours, heartfelt storytelling, and a deep connection to heritage.

Richie, a Dublin-born chef with Filipino and Irish roots, spent over a decade working in professional kitchens before launching Bahay during the pandemic. It began as a personal project to explore his identity through food and quickly grew into something bigger - a celebration of culture, belonging, and seriously tasty dishes.

Alex, a digital strategist and food writer, brought her creativity and storytelling skills to the mix. Together, they’ve built Bahay as a space where food sparks conversation and connection, from sell-out supper clubs to street food festivals.

Their debut cookbook Masarap, part of the Blasta Book series, captures the essence of what they do - bringing people together through vibrant Filipino flavours, Irish ingredients, and the stories that live between them.
